About Us

Who We Are

The CRE-PF is a collaborative, national program of dynamic, passionate and world-class multi-disciplinary researchers working to improve and extend the lives of people living with pulmonary fibrosis.

Since our establishment in 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to achieving this aim through a comprehensive and cutting-edge bench to bedside research, education and capacity-building program that directly addresses patient-identified priorities and translates best practice care to people with pulmonary fibrosis across Australia.

Our team is at the forefront of international research and several key developments. Our program leverages the envied national research infrastructure we have built to underpin Australian pulmonary fibrosis research, including the Australasian ILD Registry and its linked biobank, our clinical trials network, PACT and our active Consumer Advisory Group.

Our pulmonary fibrosis research is accelerated through our unique multi-site pipeline or ecosystem which enables shared insights across programs.

CRE-PF Bench to Bedside Program Approach

Governance

The CRE-PF is led by a Steering Committee, chaired by Prof Tamera Corte, and encompasses 5 subcommittees:

  1. Translation, EDucation and Support (TEDS)
  2. CRE Advanced Training Environment (CREATE)
  3. Pulmonary fibrosis Australasian Clinical Trials (PACT)
  4. Australasian Interstitial Lung Disease Registry (AILDR)
  5. CRE-PF Consumer Advisory Group (CRE-PF CAG).

The CRE-PF Steering Committee makes decisions regarding the prioritisation and implementation of research, including ensuring there is no duplication of research efforts, as well as the administration of funds.

The CRE-PF staff provide administrative and project management support through coordination of day-to-day activities to facilitate collaboration and the delivery of platforms, research projects and other strategy.

We are funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and generously supported by philanthropy through Lung Foundation Australia’s Hope Research Fund.

Partners

The CRE-PF involves an extensive network of established partnerships with research institutions, health facilities, professional bodies, industry and the peak consumer health charity.
