About
Jinx Moore completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney before joining the Mycobacterial Research Program to complete an Honours in 2021.
Under the supervision of Professor Warwick Britton and Dr Diana Quan, she completed a project that sought to understand how silica exposure altered the immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
Interested to continue working on silicosis, Jinx joined the UTS Centenary Centre for Inflammation to conduct a PhD project under the supervision of Prof Phil Hansbro, Prof Warwick Britton, Dr Ashleigh Philp, and Dr Diana Quan. Jinx’s research applies multiomics to evaluate the immune response in a murine model of silicosis with the aim of identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Jinx’s current research interests include the pathogenesis of silicosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, occupational health, and understanding how silica exposure and silicosis confer an increased risk of mycobacterial infection.
