Kelsie Raspin

About

Kelsie completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) in 2014. She then undertook Honours with Prof Jo Dickinson at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, UTAS, researching rare genetic variants that contribute to familial haematological malignancies.

Kelsie then completed her PhD in 2020 which focussed on understanding the impact of genetic variation on prostate cancer.

Dr Raspin is currently a Research Fellow at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, UTAS. Her research aims to identify and characterise rare genetic variants contributing to cancer and IPF. Kelsie has a broad range of skills from participant recruitment through to multi-omic analyses, as well as functional laboratory-based assays using cell lines and patient samples.

She works closely with Drs Lucas and Smalley on the Genetic Research in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (GRIPF) Study, a nationwide study aiming to identify the genetic cause of IPF in families and individuals with familial ILD.
