Congratulations – CRE-PF Award Winners

The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand held its annual scientific meeting (TSANZSRS) on the Gold Coast in March 2024.

During this meeting, at the Lung Foundation Awards Dinner, many of our CRE-PF team were announced as award winners, including Prof Dan Chambers, who was recognised as a “Lung Health Legend” – a well-deserved win! 

Other winners included:

  • Dr Caitlin Fermoyle, the CREATE Hope Fellowship 2023 for Precision Medicine in Pulmonary Fibrosis.
  • Dr Minh Dao Ngo, the CREATE Hope Fellowship 2023 for Targeting the Oxysterol/GPR183 Axis to Treat Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
  • Dr Sionne Lucas, the TSANZ Cell, Immunology & Molecular Biology of the Lung SIG Award and CREATE Best Abstract Prize for their presentation “The genetic landscape of familial interstitial lung disease (ILD) is similar to sporadic idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis”.
  • Dr Lai-Ying Zhang, the TSANZ Orphan Lung Diseases, Lung Transplant, Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Vascular Disease (OLIV) SIG Award for their presentation “Cellular Genomics Reveals Insight into Mechanisms of Human Pulmonary Fibrosis”.
  • Claudia Sim, Ann Woolcock New Investigator Award Finalist.
  • Chloe Lawler, the Lizotte Family Grant-in-Aid for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research for Evaluation of the Association of Epstein-Barr Virus and Human Herpes Virus 6 shedding among patients with pulmonary fibrosis.
