Webinar: Protecting people at risk

While air pollution affects everyone’s long-term health, some groups are at higher risk.

People with lung or heart conditions, older adults, children, infants, pregnant people, and people at social or economic disadvantage; these groups tend to experience the most serious health consequences from poor air quality.

In this webinar we will hear from three researchers working to improve outcomes for at-risk groups.

  • Associate Professor Supriya Mathew (Menzies School of Health Research) will speak about air quality in remote communities
  • Dr Erin Walsh (ANU) will speak about the information needs of young Australians aged 15–19
  • Sophie Iles (University of Queensland) will speak about firefighter health protective strategies

The webinar will be Chaired by Dr Sabrina Idrose, postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Safe Air and Melbourne University.
