About
I had 30 years as a manager in the manufacturing industry, largely in plastics manufacturing, working for ICI, now Orica, at Botany, NSW. I then spent 20 years passing on some of my skills and knowledge to students in the University of Sydney’s engineering department. During this time, I’ve also been a leader in non-governmental environmental groups and held several positions on Boards and community enterprises.
I was diagnosed with IPF in 2023 when I found myself unable to maintain my regular running regime. Since then, I’ve been on Nintenanib, and I’ve been engaged in one clinical trial this year.
I was asked to join this consumer feedback group in 2025, which I was happy to do.
I found the treatment and care I received from my physicians and the clinical trial team at the RPA to be excellent, and I hope to contribute back to the IPF Community.
I live in a remote property within the Yengo National Park, about 100 km north of Sydney, with my wife, Rosie. We have three children and two grandchildren.
