Archana Gaikwad

About

Archana Gaikwad is a clinical researcher at University of Tasmania, Launceston campus. Her doctoral research investigated the role of endothelial to mesenchymal transition (EndoMT) in pulmonary hypertension and interstitial fibrosis in IPF.

She was awarded the Lung Foundation Australia/ David Wilson CREATE PhD scholarship in IPF research 2019. Before starting her doctorate, had the experience of over 10 years in global companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Becton, Dickinson (BD) Medical.

She has worked with global organisation such as World Health Organization (WHO), FIND- TB organisation, Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) and regulatory agencies across the world.

She also has expertise in managing each aspects of the clinical trials (Phase I- IV) for newly developed therapeutic treatments and diagnostics. She holds a postgraduate certificate in clinical trial management from National University of Singapore and a master’s degree in microbiology from India.
