James Tadjkarimi

About

James is a UK-trained physician who graduated from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He moved to Aotearoa/New Zealand to continue his medical training and is currently in the last year of his dual respiratory and general medicine training.

Under the mentorship of Professor Margaret Wilsher and Dr. Sally de Boer at Te Toka Tumai Auckland City Hospital, James developed a strong clinical and research interest in interstitial lung disease. He recently completed an analysis of Aotearoa-specific data from the Australasian ILD Registry (AILDR), examining local ILD characteristics and outcomes. James’ current interests include epidemiological trends in ILD, with an emphasis on early identification aimed at improving health equity and outcomes for marginalised communities, and pulmonary hypertension associated with ILD.

In October this year, James will begin a clinical ILD fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, to further advance his clinical and research expertise in ILD.
