Claudia completed a BSc Honours degree with High Distinction on a silicosis-related project under the supervision of A/Prof Jane Bourke in the Respiratory Pharmacology Laboratory at Monash University.
During her time there, she developed a research interest in pathophysiologies that underlie fibrotic lung diseases like silicosis, and potential treatments that may attenuate or reverse lung fibrosis.
She worked as a research assistant for a year and commenced her PhD in the same laboratory in 2021, focused on identifying and characterising novel treatments for Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and silicosis.
