About

Levi completed a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Queensland in 2023, majoring in Biomedical Science and Machine Learning. Since 2022 he has worked as a Research Assistant since 2022 in the Genomics and Machine Learning Lab at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience UQ and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, analysing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data. He developed novel methods for integrating and analysing multimodal single-cell and spatial transcriptomics cell-cell interactions at the molecular level.

Levi is interested in developing and applying multimodal machine learning tools for precision pulmonary fibrosis care. He has a special interest in developing deep learning models to combine cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data with histological images to study the immune microenvironment in pulmonary fibrosis.

He is also interested in developing deep learning models for imaging segmentation of silica crystals and inferring cell types in broncho-alveolar lavage fluid and for diagnosis and prognosis using multimodal datasets including BAL fluid, RNAseq data, CT scans, and lung sounds.
