About
Mymy Tran is an early-career researcher at the Centre of Research Excellence in Pulmonary Fibrosis (CRE-PF) and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, working under the leadership of Professor Tamera Corte.
Her research focuses on improving outcomes for people with interstitial lung disease (ILD) through the discovery of novel biomarkers that enable earlier diagnosis and more accurate prognosis.
Mymy is currently undertaking her PhD with Professor Tamera Corte, Dr Caitlin Fermoyle, and Dr Phillip Munoz, to investigate the analysis of volatile organic compounds in the exhaled breath (breathomics), as a biomarker for ILD detection and progression prediction.
In parallel, she is working with research leads from the CRE-PF and RPA Hospital to develop a referral tool aimed at facilitating earlier palliative care interventions for ILD patients.
