About

Peter Bell is a thoracic and lung transplant physician at the Queensland Lung Transplant Service, based at The Prince Charles Hospital. In 2023, he completed a lung transplant fellowship at the Toronto Lung Transplant Program before returning to Australia to pursue a PhD. He is currently conducting research under the supervision of Gabrielle Belz, Dan Chambers, and Peter Hopkins at The Translational Research Institute, University of Queensland.

Peter’s research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of stromal biology, particularly fibroblast transition states and cell fate decisions. His goal is to bridge the gap between basic science and the clinic by leveraging novel disease models combined with single-cell genomics.
