Stefanie Zappino

About

Stefanie Zappino is a PhD candidate of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science at Monash University (Alfred Hospital) under the supervision of A/Prof Natasha Smallwood, Prof Anne Holland, A/Prof Jeanette Tamplin and Dr. Amy Pascoe. 

Stefanie’s PhD is looking at developing an optimal model of care for singing for breathing programs for people with chronic lung disease within the Australian context. She is also a Registered Music Therapist (RMT), graduating her Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne in 2016, and currently holds a senior music therapist role in A/Prof Natasha Smallwood’s research group, within the Respiratory Research @ Alfred at the Central Clinical School, Monash University. 

Stefanie’s research interests include the role of music therapy within the treatment and management of chronic respiratory diseases and palliative care.
