We’re happy to let you know that our successful Australasian Pulmonary Fibrosis Virtual Research Meetings will continue in 2025.
These monthly Zoom meetings feature a presentation by an emerging researcher from the CREATE Program along with an introduction by their supervisor.
These presentations are designed to promote collaboration and discussion among Australasian researchers interested in pulmonary fibrosis in a collegial and supportive environment.
Details for the first Australasian Pulmonary Fibrosis Virtual Research Meeting for 2025 are supplied below:
When: 12-1pm (AEDT) Friday 21 February.
Presenter: Olivia Young – Monash University.
Topic: AT2R agonists inhibit fibrogenesis in in vitro and ex vivo models of IPF
Introduction: Liv will be introduced by her supervisor Prof Jane Bourke.
Liv is doing her PhD at the Department of Respiratory Pharmacology at Monash University under the supervision of Prof Jane Bourke and Prof Robert Widdop. Her research concerns the potential for activation of the anti-fibrotic elements of the Renin-Angiotensin system (RAS) as novel anti-fibrotics in the treatment of IPF. She is particularly interested in modelling IPF ex vivo using precision cut lung slices to screen novel anti-fibrotic compounds.
